Domestic LPG gas price hiked by 15 rupees

On Wednesday, The petroleum company has increased the price of domestic LPG cylinders by ₹15. This is the fourth straight-away increase in rates in less than two months. After the hike, the price of a non-subsidized 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi is now 899.50 rupees. The new rate of 5 kg cylinder is 502 rupees.

The government policy provides 12 cylinders of 14.2kg each per household at a subsidized or below-market rate. Any quantity over this has to be purchase at market price or non-subsidized rates.

Earlier, a non-subsidized 14.2 kg cylinder was priced Rs 884.50 per cylinder in Delhi, ₹ 900.50 per cylinder in Chennai, ₹ 884.50 per cylinder in Mumbai, and ₹ 911 per cylinder in Kolkata, according to data by Indian Oil Corporation.

At the same time, fuel prices were hiked for the second straight day today across the four metro cities. According to the state-run oil refiner in the national capital, petrol rates were hiked by 30 paise per liter and sold at Rs 102.94 per liter. Likewise, diesel rates increased by 35 paise per liter in Delhi and are now trading at ₹ 91.42 per liter.

Meantime, global benchmark Brent jumped to 82.53 dollars per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate rose to $ 78.87. U.S. oil prices jumped up for a fifth consecutive day on Wednesday to their highest since 2014 amid global concerns on energy supply amid signs of tightness in crude, natural gas, and coal markets.

The hike in-cylinder price coincides with the increase in the rates of diesel and petrol. In Delhi, petrol price reached ₹102.94, and diesel is retailing at ₹94.53.
