Covid Restriction to be lifted in Delhi if covid Cases come down- Delhi Minister

Today, Satyendar Jain, Delhi health minister, said restrictions would be lifted if Corona cases come down in the next 2-3 days. Delhi health minister also said that it seems Covid patients have stabilized in Delhi and predicted that soon there would be a decline in covid-19 cases when asked whether the current Covid-19 wave has peaked or not in the national capital.

The minister also said that Delhi will likely see around 25,000 cases today.

Jain told ANI.

"COVID-19 cases in the UT continue to be above 20,000 cases, but the positivity rate is stable at around 25 percent which is a good sign for Delhi. On Tuesday UT has reported around 21,259 COVID-19 positive case and 23 deaths. Hospital admission rate has not increased in the past 4-5 days; if it continues, there will be some relief in restrictions,"

Talking about deaths due to COVID-19, he said, "Most of the deaths that are taking place are also due to serious injuries and other diseases. For example, a few days ago a case had come where a boy had attempted suicide, who later died in the hospital. He was COVID-19 positive also. It should be considered suicide but it is said that he died due to COVID-19".

"In Delhi, 2209 beds were filled till yesterday, while 12,000 were vacant. There is an occupancy of 15 percent. Only 15,000 beds have been released so far. While there is a provision of 37 thousand beds. We have more arrangements than the number of beds given in LNJP and Rajiv Gandhi. We will put more when needed, but looks like it they won't be needed."
