Lockdown restrictions in Mumbai to remain level 3 next week.

The BMC Announced that the level 3 lockdown restriction would stay in Mumbai next week.

 The decision was taken because of population density, heavy rainfall prediction, and people traveling in local trains, said BMC.

The BMC issued fresh orders on Friday, stating that restrictions will not be eased as of now.

Over the past few weeks, Mumbai indicated a decline in covid-19 cases, and the second wave pandemic has a worse state to a better state.

Since last month, Mumbai saw a radically decreased Covid -19 cases positivity rate of 4.4 percent weekly and 27.12 percent oxygen bed occupancy in Mumbai. New Covid-19 beds used for Non-Covid patients (for other diseases) in Civic-run hospitals.

A decline in demand for RT: PCR and rapid antigen test in both private and Government-run laboratories in Mumbai declined in May compared to April.

Lockdown and restrictions of movements are one the primary reason for the decline in case.

The level  5 to 1 are the only indicators; Bmc will only ease restriction to level 2 as cases decline to 100 to 200 per day but will wait until June to see how the plans work.

Brihan Municipal Corporation has decided that the city will continue to remain under level 3 of Unlock norms under 'Break the chain.' But currently, Mumbai is under level 2 as per Maharashtra government guidelines. Still, the cases to be in 600- 700 patients per day in Mumbai, so BMC has decided to continue the same restriction for a week.
