More Covid 19 Relaxation in Maharashtra what is permitted or not?

Pressure from restaurant and hotel associations and other sections of society to ease lockdown restrictions, the government on Wednesday extended trade timings across the state from 15 August. The relaxations will come into effect across the state from tomorrow.

Maharashtra Covid-19 restriction: What is permitted?

  • The shopping malls, bars, restaurants, shops, shopping malls, gymnasiums, yoga centers, spas, and salons are now open till 10 pm.
  • As per government order, only fully vaccinated people can travel by local suburban trains from 15 August, provided 14 days have passed since taking the second dose.

However, for restaurants and bars, the government has allowed them to remain open until 10 pm with 50 percent capacity on all days. Orders can last until 9 pm, but takeaway and home delivery services for 24*7.

  • In the case of shopping malls and shops, will remain open until 10 pm all days, only customers who took both doses of vaccine and completed 14 days after the second jab are allowed to enter.

  • The air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned gymnasiums, yoga centers, salons, and spas can remain open till 10 pm. Still, the air-conditioned establishments need to make sure of proper ventilation in the premises. Indoor sports such as table tennis, badminton, and squash are allowed, but only two players are allowed.
  • The private and industry, which have vaccinated their employees, can operate at the total size. However, a private organization can remain open 24 hours with 25 percent attendance per shift.
  • All playgrounds, gardens, Chowpatty, and beaches are allowed to remain open as per the timings set by the local administrations.
  • Indoor marriage halls can operate at 50 percent capacity or with a maximum of 100 people. In comparison, outdoor marriage halls can accommodate up to 50 percent of their ability or a maximum capacity of 200.

In order said that owners or managements of all shops, bars, restaurants and offices, malls, and industrial organizations should ensure that their employees have taken both vaccine doses and completed 14 days after the second dose. “All should follow Covid-19 preventive measures such as the use of masks, physical distancing and no spitting among others,” said the order.

What is not permitted?

*Movie and drama theatres, cinemas (independent or part of shopping malls), and worship places will remain closed until further orders.

* As part of crowd management, restrictions on birthdays, political, religious, social, and cultural programs, as well as political rallies, will continue.

In a statement,* Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said the Delta plus variant is spreading widely in countries such as the United States and Britain. “In such a situation, we have to open up activities very carefully. There are demands from other sectors for relaxations and we will take a careful decision on those too,” he added.
