Over 11 crore vaccine doses were given in Maharashtra

On Thursday, Maharashtra crossed the mark of administering 110 million, or 11 crores, Covid vaccine doses at 5.30 pm.

A total of 11,00,26,925 vaccines dosage against Covid-19 have been administered to date.

While 3.76 crore single have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, 7.24 crore individuals have received at least one first vaccine.

Dr. Pradeep Vyas, additional chief secretary of health, Maharashtra, told.

Maharashtra had achieved the 100 million, or ten crores, mark of Covid vaccinations on 9th November. While this is a vigorous figure, nearly 94 lac are due to get a second dose of the Covid vaccine,

Dr. Vyas said

“As per our data of daily vaccinations, the number of those who get the second dose more than those who get the first dose,”

As per a report on vaccinations by the state Health Department, submitted at the cabinet meeting on Thursday, over four crore beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years have got at least one dose of the vaccine 1.64 crores are fully vaccinated.

In the 45 years and above age group, 1.77 crores are fully vaccinated, while 2.86 crores have got the first Covid-19 vaccine dose. More than 11 lakh healthcare workers and over 18 lakh frontline workers have been fully immunized with both vaccine doses.

While cent percent first dose vaccination has been achieved in Mumbai, over 70 percent of the beneficiaries are fully vaccinated with both doses.

Pune is a close second, with 96 percent of beneficiaries getting the first jab of the vaccine and 57.4 percent of the population fully vaccinated.

Bhandara, Sindhudurg, and Gondia are among the high-performing districts where more than 50 percent of target beneficiaries have received both vaccine doses.

Coronavirus figures of Maharashtra are as follows: Total cases 66,33,105, new cases 848, total deaths 1,40,857, recoveries 64,79,396, active cases 9,187, total coronavirus tests conducted so far 6,50,47,491.
