Revise in Covid 19 guidelines in Mumbai City by BMC

BMC has revise covid 19 guidelines in Mumbai City and allowed non-essential shops to operate till 10 pm on all days

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued revised guidelines for a city on Monday, permitting non-essential shops to function till 10 pm on all days.

  • Lockdown restrictions eased in Mumbai.
  • Restaurants and hotels will open till 4 pm.
  • All shops to stay open till 10: 00 pm
  • Dining in restaurants is allowed till 4:00 pm.
  • All indoor and outdoor games are allowed, except swimming pool and other games where social distancing is impossible.

Maharashtra declares relaxations in Covid curbs in 25 districts showing a low positivity rate of infection. It extended the existing business timings of shops and allowing shopping malls to operate in these districts.

Also, all government, as well as private offices, can operate with a total capacity. The relaxations will come into force from Tuesday morning. The state government has not decided to allow ordinary people to travel by suburban trains in Mumbai.

All shops and other establishments currently allowed to operate till 4 pm can now remain open till 8 pm on weekdays, and shops can open till 3 pm only on Saturdays. Non-essential shops will have to stay closed on Sundays.

The Maharashtra government has also allowed shopping malls to open and operate as per the new guidelines. Yoga centers, spas, salons, and gyms can work with 50 percent capacity without air conditioning.

Though the malls will open, no theaters, theatres, and cinema halls will operate until further.

Maharashtra reported 4,869 fresh Covid cases and 90 fatalities, bringing the tally of infections to 63,15,063 and the toll to 1,33,038 while 8,429 patients recovered.

The lockdown rules in Mumbai were only relaxed after the Maharashtra government allowed concerned authorities to dial down COVID-19 restrictions in the city.

The current lockdown rules in Mumbai were relaxed after an order from the Maharashtra government stated that the decision on reducing the currently imposed COVID-19 restrictions in Mumbai, Mumbai Suburban, and Thane districts would have to be taken by the Disaster Management Authorities of the respective sections.

While as per BMC notification, revise in Covid 19 guidelines in Mumbai City and all non-essential shops in Mumbai will be allowed to operate till 10 pm daily, and most indoor and outdoor activities have been permitting sports, the Mumbai civic authority has not allowed malls in the city to reopen.
