You can book a corona vaccine slot through Whatsapp

The process of booking a spot for the Covid vaccination can also be done through WhatsApp. MyGov and the Ministry of Health announced that the MyGov Corona HelpDesk on WhatsApp allows users to locate their nearest vaccination center and book their vaccine appointment slot.

Will Cathcart, the Chief Executive Officer, Whatsapp Inc on Twitter, said today we are partnering with the Health Ministry and @mygovindia to enable people to make their vaccine appointments via WhatsApp.

"MyGov Corona Helpdesk is now also aiding in the process of vaccine booking as also finding vaccination centers and downloading vaccinate certificate. It enables digital addition in the true sense as most people encounter the AI-based interface enabled on WhatsApp simple to drive.

We are very thankful to WhatsApp India for their continued assistance in helping us to unlock the true potential of the chatbot for citizen help and engagement throughout the trying times of the pandemic,"

Taking to Twitter, Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote on Tuesday, "Paving a new era of citizen convenience. Now, book COVID-19 vaccine slots easily on your phone within minutes."

How to book slots via WhatsApp

Add MyGov Corona Helpdesk 9013151515 as a contact.

Send 'Book Slot' to a number on WhatsApp.

Enter the 6-digit OTP you get via SMS

Choose your preferred date and location, basis pin code, and vaccine type in the WhatsApp chat.

Get confirmation and visit the vaccination center on the day of your appointment.

If you've already been vaccinating, you can also download your vaccine certificate on the same helpline. Earlier this month, MyGov and WhatsApp also introduced the ability for users to download vaccine certificates from the chatbot. According to Will Cathcart, over 3 million people have downloaded their vaccination certificates through WhatsApp.

The COVID-19 vaccine slots can also be booking from Co-WIN Portal or Arogya Setu/Umang Mobile Application. Spaces can be reserved via the Paytm app. Apart from booking, there is a facility of on-site registration also for the same.

Over 58.82 crore Covid vaccine doses administered in India so far, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday. As of day-220 of the vaccination drive (August 23), 39,62,091 beneficiaries were giving the first dose, and 16,48,025 received the second dose, according to a provisional report, till 7 pm.
