Bellbottom Movie of Akshay Kumar gets banned in three gulf nation

Akshay Kumar's highly anticipated film 'BellBottom' was released in theatres on August 19. The film received good feedback from critics and viewers.

The film features a group star cast of Adil Hussain, Lara Dutta, Denzil Smith, Huma Qureshi, and Vaani Kapoor. 'Bellbottom' was released worldwide due to the COVID-19 restriction. However, the film is banning in three gulf nations.

The film certification official in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar have banned 'BellBottom' screening in their countries because of alleged 'tampering with historical facts. The espionage thriller is establishing on-plane hijacks that storm India in the 1980 era.

"The second half of movie Bell Bottom shows the hijackers took the aircraft from Lahore to Dubai. As per the actual incident that happened in the 1984 year.

Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying.

The source added.

"So there's a strong possibility that Censor Board in countries of Middle East must take objection on it and hence banned it,"

In 'BellBottom,' Akshay Kumar is leading the operation. Meanwhile, several Bollywood celebrities, including Riteish Deshmukh, Kangana Ranaut, and Ajay Devgn, have commended Akshay and the 'Bellbottom' team to release the film in theatres leading the way for other films.

The film was delivered with 50% occupancy in India. On August 20 Friday, the film collected Rs 2.75 crore in the box office, while on Saturday, the collection was Rs 2.40 crore, as per a Bollywood Hungama report.

Akshay Kumar's BellBottom has collected ₹12.65 crores over the four-day extended weekend. The Bollywood film, which became the first Hindi film to release in theatres since the second wave of Covid-19 shut them down, collected approximately ₹4.30 crore on Sunday.
