RRR Movie crossed 900 crore mark to become the 5th highest-grossing Indian film ever

SS Rajamouli's high-budget film RRR has achieved another milestone. The film saw a big jump in collections during the weekend and crossed the Rs 900 crore mark worldwide. It looks like there's no stopping RRR. Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, the war drama is shattering box office records one after another. The film is in its second week of theatrical run and remains strong.

This figure means RRR has beat Aamir Khan's PK to be the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film ever. Only four films have more earned than RRR now- Dangal ( ₹2,024 crores), Bajrangi Bhaijaan ( ₹969.06 crores), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion ( ₹1,810 crores), and Secret Superstar ( 966.86 crores). Trade analysts estimate that RRR should leapfrog to the third spot by the end of its run. However, the numbers of Dangal and Baahubali 2 are likely to remain out of their reach.

The film's Hindi-dubbed version has also remained strong at the domestic box office. As per a report in BoxOfficeIndia.com, "RRR (Hindi) cruised past the 50 crore net mark for its second weekend, and it could have been a little more but the start of Ramazan hit collections at places. The film joins an elite list of films which have done 50 crore nett over the second weekend. The drop in the second weekend is only 33% which is excellent."

RRR is directed by SS Rajamouli and stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead. The film is loaded with VFX and is based on the lives of Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) and Alluri Seetharama Raju (Ram Charan) in pre-independence India. The movie also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson.
