Mumbai police to initiate Sunday Street from 27th march some roads to remain closed

Mumbai police informed about the launch of the 'Sunday Street' initiative vide which several roads in Mumbai will be shut for traffic for four hours on Sunday morning.

The initiative, 'Sunday Street,' aims to encourage Mumbaikars to step out of their homes to relax and engage in fun, sporting, and wellness activities on the streets, police said.

Various stretches in the city and its suburbs will be thrown open for limited hours on Sundays for the exclusive use of citizens, who can engage in a range of fun-filled activities with their friends, children's, and other family members.

This Sunday (27 March), Dorabhai Tata Road in Nariman Point, Carter Road in Bandra, Mind Space Road in Goregaon, Lokhandwala Road in D N Nagar (Andheri), Tansa Pipe Line at Mulund, and Eastern Expressway in Vikhroli will be closed for vehicular movement between 6 am and 10 am and dedicated to residents, he added.

The six roads that have been reserved for this Sunday are at Marine Drive, a 1.7 km distance on the Dorabhai Tata Road, Nariman Point, between NCPA and Murli Deora Chowk dead end. In Bandra on the Carter Road, the 2 km distance between Otters Club and CCD will host the Sunday Street.

In Goregaon, a 500-meter spread on the Mind Space Back Road between Jimmy Yogiraj and electric poles no. CHCU 085/018 will host the events.

Similarly, in D N Nagar in Andheri west, a 600 meter stretch at Lokhandwala Marg, the distance between Samarth Nagar Mhada Tower and Joggers Park will be blocked. On the Mulund Goregaon Link Road, the 2.5 km stretch from the Tansa pipeline to Vinanagar will be blocked.

At Vikhroli, a 2.5 km stretch between the Service Road of Vikhroli bridge south channel and Ghatkopar bridge signal.
