China, Australia to increase Covid restriction as delta form spread

China, Australia to increase Covid restriction as delta form spread

China and Australia increased COVID restriction on Saturday as Delta delta form increased and tens of thousands reunited France against the rules designed to stop the pandemic.

The Delta variant, first identified in India, forces governments to reimpose strict measures and to increase Covid restriction as delta form spread , while other nations reconsider plans to open their market.

This form has spread up to 132 countries and territories around the globe. The Covid pandemic has killed more than 40 lac people and showing no sign of slowing down.

China's outbreak now stretches to 14 provinces, the most widespread in several months, challenging the country's early success in tackling the disease after first detecting it in the city of Wuhan in 2019.

China has direct more than one million people under lockdown and relaunches mass testing drives.

Mi Feng, the spokesman for National Health Commission (NHC), said.

"The main strain transmit at present is Delta variant which poses an even great challenge to prevention of virus and work control,"

In Australia, only about 14 percent of the population has been vaccinating. The third-largest city of Australia, like Brisbane and other parts of Queensland, entered a lockdown on Saturday after six new covid cases were detected.

"The only way to beat the this strain is to quickly move, to be strong and to be fast," said Queensland's Deputy Premier Steven Miles, announcing three days of strict stay-at-home orders for millions.

Destroying economy

The start and stop of restrictions are taking their toll on exhausted people.

Karmun Loh told AFP

"This government is destroying economy and also destroying our democracy in the country,"

France, meanwhile, has experienced months of lockdowns and curfews, one only to enter a new period of "health passes" in July. Entering restaurants, cafes, and cultural venues to be restricted to the vaccinated people can show that they have been double vaccinated or have a negative test report.

More than 200,000 people protested in France on Saturday for the third week, with angry hostilities. Police in Paris using tear gas and water cannon and made many detain.

Meanwhile, the French authorities have reapplied restrictions in some of the territories, where cases are increasing, most recently in the city of Martinique, French Polynesia, and La Reunion. Bangladesh also eased curbs, however, despite a Delta surge, pushing hundreds of thousands of garment workers to rush back to major cities in the nation after the government said export factories could reopen.

Said factory worker Mohammad Masum,

"Police stopped us at many spotcheck and transport vehicle was filled,"

Deaths are rising in Africa.

In Africa, official figures put the daily death toll at 1,000 per day on average the last seven days: 17 percent up from the previous week and the highest recorded since the pandemic began.

Rwanda, however, ordered the lifting of a restriction on lockdown on the capital Kigali and eight other districts even though Covid cases are still on the rise, with the new measures running from 1 and 15 August. And Niger, one of the world's poorest countries, took delivery of 302,400 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine donated by the United States.

'The war has changed

Millions of Americans could meanwhile find themselves homeless starting Sunday as a nationwide ban on evictions expires. President Joe Biden this week urged Congress to extend the 11-month-old moratorium after a recent Supreme Court ruling meant the White House could not do so.

But Republicans balked at Democratic efforts to extend the eviction ban through mid-October, and the House of Representatives adjourned for its summer vacation.

The latest survey from the US Centers for Disease Control found that fully immunized people with so-called breakthrough infections of the Delta variant can quickly spread the disease as unvaccinated people.

While the jabs remain effective against severe disease and death, the US government agency said in an internal document leaked Friday that "the war has changed" due to Delta.
