Visa on Arrival facility suspended in UAE for India with UK and US Visa

The UAE (United Arab Emirates) has temporarily suspended the visa on arrival facility for Indian nationals who have visa or residence permits issued by the United States, the United Kingdom, or a European Union member state. Etihad Airways announced this on Twitter on Monday.

It didn't provide any reason or further details for the decision but said that the parties would update the airline's website.

A tweet from Etihad Help said in response to a user's query.

"The UAE authorities have also decided to temporarily suspend the Visa-on-arrival facility for passengers who are arriving from or being in India in the past 14 days,"

The previous week, Etihad had announced that Indian citizens with a residence permit or visa provide by the UK, the US, or an EU member state are eligible for UAE visas.

The airline's website said

"If you're an Indian national, you are now eligible to apply for a visa when you arrive in the United Arab Emirate, which includes Abu Dhabi in it. To qualify for UAE Visa, you must have a Green Card or US Visitor Visa , or holds a EU or UK residence valid for not less than 6 month ,and your passport must have minimum six months validity,"

Before this month, the UAE eased Covid-19 restrictions by issuing a new traveling protocol that permits passengers from India and five other nations. But, all flyers were asked to undergo a Polymerase Chain Reaction test on arrival and the ninth day after arrival in the UAE.

The passengers were also asked to produce a negative PCR test certificate with 48 hours validity and undergo a Rapid PCR test at the departure airport.
