Muslim gift 1700 sqft land to SKVTT next to Gyanvapi Mosque

Before the start of the holy month, Hindu Shravan, the Muslim community has announced a gift for SKVTT in a piece of land measuring 1,700 square feet,

Next to Gyanvapi mosque to develop (corridor) Kashi Vishwanath Dham. In return gift, the temple management has given land measuring 1,000 square feet to the Muslim community.

On Friday in Varanasi, the announcement made Friday between the two parties was completed on July 9.

The dispute between Gyanvapi mosque and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, considering the survey of entire premises by the Archaeological Survey of India, is still pending.

The exchange deal was completed on July 9 and signed by a chief executive officer of SKVTT, Sunil Kumar Verma, on behalf of UP governor and Abdul Batin Nomani of Anjuman Intezamiya Masjid.

The property details include house number CK/12, 13 Aadi Vishweshvar, and CK 31/19 Gyanvapi ward, Chowk. The stamp duty was capitalized by SKVTT CEO.

Said Divisional commissioner Deepak Agrawal

“The property given by Muslim side was owned by Wakf Board and Gyanvapi-KVT control room was located on these land. Since the land was needed for development of Corridor by Kashi Vishwanath Dham, we provided piece of land to them by Muslim community on the main road and they agreed.” 

“It took nearly two years to make exchange deal,” said SM Yasin of Anjuman Intezamiya Masajid,

Adding that approved of Sunni Central Waqf Board and opinion of all priests were taken before an agreement was seal.

Yasin Said

“All agreed, and deal was finalized friendly. There was no pressure from the government side,” 

He added.

“The existing dispute regarding ASI survey in the court has nothing to do with this deal. We hope that it will give a message of communal harmony,”
