Delhi Metro Pink segment line section to open from today

Delhi Metro Pink segment line section to open from today

The Delhi Metro Pink segment Pink Line is setting to become Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's longest operational corridor from Friday onwards, saving passengers time and money.

The Delhi Metro's missing link of Pink Line, connecting to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Trilokpuri, will be inaugurated by Union minister of housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday.

The corridor Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar of Pink Line expands to 38 stops.

A small section of east Delhi's Trilokpuri area had turned to be a restriction for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, due to which line remained disconnected for some stretch. The section opening between the Trilokpuri section and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 and Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake stations will link the Pink Line.

The Delhi Metro Pink segment Pink Line will connect essential landmarks of the national capital - the Anand Vihar Railway station, Anand Vihar ISBT, Nizamuddin Railway station, markets in South Extension, INA, and Lajpat Nagar, officials said, reports news agency PTI.

DMRC officials said there would be a reduction of travel time of about 20 minutes, from HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon to Trilokpuri-Sanjay Lake and the other way around,

After the connectivity of stretch from Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 to Trilokpuri-Sanjay Lake stations, train services on the entire Pink Line (Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar) will be available as per the following operational plan:

Train services from Majlis Park to Sarai Kale Khan Nizamuddin and Shiv Vihar to IP Extn sections will be available with a frequency of 5 min 12 sec, with 43 trains including standby trains during peak hours.

Services from Sarai Kale Khan Nizamuddin to the IP Extension section will be available with a frequency of 10 min 24 sec. Every alternate/2nd train goes from Nizamuddin towards IP Extension and vice versa.
