VAT reduced on Diesel and Petrol in Rajasthan from Today

VAT reduced on Diesel and Petrol in Rajasthan from Today

On Tuesday, the Rajasthan Cabinet decided to reduce Value-added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by ₹ four and ₹5, respectively. This will be effective from today, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said.

CM Gehlot tweeted.

"In the cabinet meeting on tuesday, it was one and all decided to reduce the rate of value-added tax on diesel and petrol. After this, the price will be reduced by ₹5 per liter in diesel and ₹4 per liter in petrol from 12 o'clock tonight,"

The meeting chaired by Gehlot was held at the chief minister's residence.

Meanwhile, CM Gehlot said the cabinet reshuffle in the state would soon, amid the clamor to accommodate supporters of his former Sachin Pilot. This deputy had revolted against the CM Gehlot last year.

Last week on Thursday, Gehlot had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi to discuss the long-pending demands.

After the meeting, he had said the top leadership of the party would decide on it.

"The cabinet changes will take place soon," Gehlot said while addressing the oath ceremony of the Secretariat Employees Union.

The clamor for the cabinet reshuffle has been increasing for the last several months with the demand to accommodate Pilot's supporters.

Apart from Congress MLAs, independents who support the government and those who defected from the BSP to Congress also have expectations from the exercise.

At present, there are 21 members in the council of ministers, including the chief minister. There can be a maximum of 30 members in the commission of ministers in the state, where MLAs are 200.
