Ind-Pak T20 World Cup 2022 match tickets sold out within minutes

Come 23 October, India will fight with their arch-rival Pakistan in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022. India-Pakistan is the most likely early-round fixture in ICC tournaments that will be played in the T20 World Cup when Pakistan and India square off at the (MCG) Melbourne Cricket Ground. The two nations now play only in ICC events matches, with no bilateral series after 2013.

One of the primary reasons is that this match helps the world body with big gate money and huge viewership on television guaranteed.

The demand to see one of cricket's world biggest cricket rivalries. The allocations for India vs. Pakistan match to be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on 23 October was sold within five minutes of going on sale.

Pakistan and India clash on the opening weekend of the main round of the tournament at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. More than 90,000 Audiences are expected at the stadium for the Pakistan and India match. It's expected to be their first encounter after the T20 showpiece in the UAE late last year when the Pakistan team broke their World Cup duck against India.

Local Organising Committee CEO Michelle Enright ICC men's T20 World Cup 2022 said:

"The response from the cricket fans has been tremendous, and we're proud of the fact we were able to honor our fans who purchased tickets to the postponed tournaments in 2020 and those who registered before with us to get priority entry to tickets in the pre-sale in the tournament."

As per BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council India), a TV audience measurement service, the Pak-India game in the 2021 T20 world cup raise to 167 million viewers on television only in India. According to the ICC, the Pakistan-India game in the 2019 ODI world cup had 273 million viewership worldwide and 50 million digital-only viewers.

It's the first time Australia will host T20 cricket's global showpiece for men, with matches in Sydney, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide.

The fixture for the tournament was recently announced with the First Round to get underway in Geelong and Hobart featuring former champions West Indies and Sri Lanka, before hosts and defending champions Australia take on New Zealand in the opening match of the Super 12 at the SCG on Saturday 22 October in a re-match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 Final.
