Indian final Squad for T20 World Cup

The BCCI has announced India's squad for the T20 World Cup. The announcement of BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Selection Committee Chairman Chetan Sharma.

The surprise was the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal while R Ashwin made his comeback. The ace spinner had last played in 2017 against West Indies at Sabina Park in T20Is. He has played 46 T20Is and taken 52 wickets. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, India's highest wicket-taker, has failed to cut a lean patch in the last few matches.

As predicted, Surya Kumar Yadav was named to the T20 squad while selectors continued to keep the trust in Hardik Pandya. Varun Chakravarthy gets included in the T20 setup.

Team India and Pakistan will be facing each other on October 24 in the same group encounter. The tournament will be set in motion on October 17, with the final gets to play in Dubai on November 14. The game will begin with the Round 1 Group B confront between hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 17, with Bangladesh and Scotland, the other teams in Group B, clashing in the evening match.

Group 2 will set in motion a heavyweight clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai on October 24. Pakistan then took on New Zealand in Sharjah on October 26, in a tough start for the 2009 champions. Afghanistan began its campaign at Sharjah on October 25, taking on the victors of Group B from the first round. It will cease on November 8, with India taking on Group A's second-placed Round 1 qualifier.

The first semi-final match will hold in Abu Dhabi on November 10. And second in Dubai on November 11. Both the semi-finals have reserve days. The marquee clash of the tournament will hold in Dubai on November 14, Sunday, with Monday as the reserve day for the final.
It has believed that the selectors had already had a chat with skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri and another regular meeting on Wednesday morning to finalize the selection. Furthermore, Team India will also carry a few additional players as a COVID-19 contingency.

The BCCI official said.

"We expected to have a final discussion today. But since the team is reaching Manchester today, we will have it tomorrow," 

The team gets set to undergo a round of COVID tests before entering the hotel, where they get expected to have a tighter bubble.

When asked if Ravi Shastri would be able to join the conference call, the official said, "He has mild symptoms but otherwise doing better. So, he should be able to join. But that depends on his health tomorrow. We already have had a discussion. So, if he is not able to join the call, it will not be a problem."

Furthermore, the source said that the discussion was only about a few places. India already has a set T20 squad, and the meeting revolved around a few potential additions to the team.
