After starting the IPL career in 2013 when RCB bought him, KL Rahul went to SRH in 2014. He was traded back to RCB in 2016 before the Punjab franchise paid INR 11 cr to buy him in the 2018 auction.

As for Marcus Stoinis, the Lucknow franchise will be his fourth IPL franchise. He had started his career in 2015 with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), where he returned in 2020 after being purchased for INR 4.8 cr. In 27 matches he has played for the Delhi Capitals, 32-year-old Marcus Stoinis scored 441 runs with a strike rate of 142.71 and took 15 wickets. In between, he had also appeared for the RCB and Punjab team.

Ravi Bishnoi, who was impressed with the performance in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa, where he ended with leading wicket-taker, was one of the most looked after uncapped players ahead of this year's IPL auction, with many franchises showing keen interest in him. That included Punjab Kings, who had won the bidding war with Mumbai Indians in the 2020 auction to catch him for INR 2 crore.

Ravi Bishnoi quickly became the lead spinner for the Punjab team and took 12 wickets in 14 matches in his first Ipl season, and in 2021, he had 12 wickets from nine games. Overall, he has an economic rate of 6.95.
