Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer Talks

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told Juventus he wants to leave the club before the summer transfer window ends on August 31. His agent Jorge Mendes was in talks with club officials to engineer a move out of the Turin club.

Juventus is getting ready for their second match of the Serie A season against Empoli in Turin; opinions around Cristiano Ronaldo's club future have dominated global headlines.

From last week, things had dramatically changed when returning coach Massimiliano Allegri said Cristiano Ronaldo promised to be in Turin and lead their campaign in the Serie A league.

Media reports in Italy have claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to move away from Juventus and has told the club that he doesn't want to stay before the summer transfer window closes on August 31.

Ronaldo himself dismissed rumors about his club's future, calling the speculation disrespectful to him and the clubs involved in the talks.

However, it has emerged that Manchester City is the frontrunner to sign Ronaldo even as the transfer window is heading towards a close. According to the report, Juventus have not received any official bids so far, but Pep Guardiola's Premier League side can come up with one.

It also reported that Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, met Juventus officials earlier this week to decide a transfer. Juventus reportedly want a fee, and it can be a problem because the money is in the realm of 25 million euros.

Cristiano Ronaldo has even cleared out his locker in the dressing room at Juventus and is unwilling to make himself available to face Empoli this weekend, AFP said, quoting media reports in Italy.

Ronaldo has a year left in his contract with Juventus, whom he joined amid much fanfare from Real Madrid in 2018. expectations from Ronaldo will lead Juventus to Champions League glory. Still, the Turin-based side has not gone past the quarter-final stages in the premier European competition since his arrival

Ronaldo got rumored to return to Real Madrid, but the Portugal star confirmed that he had written his Real chapter in his Instagram post. In endless speculation, Ronaldo got tipped to return to Manchester United and even unite with Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain.

Even Ronaldo's teammates say they have no idea whether Ronaldo will be with them past that date.

"He did not told me anything about his future and we don't know if he will stay, but I hope he will stay for a long time," said 19-year-old Kaio Jorge, who just joined from Brazilian club Santos.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a source of inspiration for me. I will be by his side every day to learn as much as possible from him."

Ronaldo didn't start Juventus' opener against Udinese last week, amid reports he had asked to be on the bench. When he came on the field in the second half and ruled out his injury-time goal, the match finished 2-2.

Both the club and coach Massimiliano Allegri insisted it was a coaching decision to keep Ronaldo on the bench at the start.
