Romeo David Beckham, son of Beckham, makes debut for Inter Miami

The young talent, whose father is a legend of Manchester United, lined up for Fort Lauderdale CF against Tormenta at these weekends.

Romeo David, son of Beckham's, made his professional football debut for Inter Miami team reserves Sunday.

Romeo David was given his first professional contract earlier this month, with the 19-year-old sign by the Fort Lauderdale CF team part of MLS franchise Inter Miami, co-owned by Beckham's father.

The 19-year-old made his debut for the USL League One outfit, playing 79 minutes of the match 2-2 draw with Tormenta at DRV PNK Stadium.

How did Romeo David perform?

Romeo David started on the right-wing against Tormenta - the position Beckham senior mastered during his career across spells at Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Milan, and Manchester United.

The teenager couldn't copy his father in the first appearance, as he managed only 19 touches before being substituted 11 minutes before full time.

Romeo's best moment came in the 57th minute when he linked up well with Harvey Neville - son of Inter Miami head coach Phil - before setting up a teammate with an inch-perfect cross, only to see him head the ball wide of the post.

Fort Lauderdale was 2-1 up before Romeo left the pitch, thanks to goals from Mitchell Curry and George Acosta, but conceded a late equalizer which ultimately saw them slip to eighth in the USL League One standings.

Romeo David featured for 79 minutes before being substituted without registering an assist or goal in the match.

Romeo was previously on books at the Arsenal academy alongside brothers Brooklyn and Cruz, but he left in 2015 to pursue other interests outside football.
