After being impressed with Wolverhampton Wanderers for four campaigns, Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed Jose Mourinho’s replacement on a two-year agreement in the close season.

He had a bright future ahead, beating champions Manchester City on an opening day, but their season unraveled after defeating four London rivals.

The 3-0 loss to Manchester United without a single shot on target had Tottenham Hotspur fans booing Nuno and shout,

“You don’t know what you’re doing.”

According to some media reports, Antonio Conte, the former Juventus and Chelsea manager, who was to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, is now the favorite to be the new Tottenham Hotspur boss.
