Sony’s latest pair of TWS buds, Sony WF-1000XM4, are released and are quite an improvement over their predecessors across the board. It is primarily because of the more capable Sony V1 chip, better construction, better audio quality, and improved noise cancellation.

The first TWS buds in the world support Hi-Res audio over the LDAC codec as it carries up to 3 times the amount of data compared to typical Bluetooth audio.

The DSEE Extreme feature in Sony WF-1000XM4 uses Artificial Intelligence to reconstruct compressed audio to something close to Hi-Res quality.

360 Reality Audio is supported to turn a recording of a live concert into an immersive experience.

The powerful V1 processor improves the ANC of high frequencies and achieves 40% lower noise levels than the XM3. Automatic wind detection can trigger wind noise reduction as well.

The redesigned Sony WF-1000XM4 model has driver units with 20% larger magnets on a better diaphragm. It is more flexible and allows it to generate better cancellation signals at lower frequencies.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 model has better passive noise isolation as well. It comes with proprietary polyurethane foam tips to attenuate noise. The buds can also determine how well they are seated in your ears and provide optimal results.

Both Android and Windows 10 support Fast pairing to the Sony WF-1000XM4. Detection of speaking and automatically pausing the music, and when Ambient Sound is enabled, allowing you to hear the ambiance without taking the buds out.

Each bud of Sony WF-1000XM4 has a pair of beam-forming mics plus a bone-conducting sensor that can pick up your voice with clarity even in noisy surroundings.
