Google Search engine giant turns 23

Google Search engine giant is celebrating its 23rd birthday on 27th September. To mark the wonderful day, Google unveiled a special birthday doodle on its search engine page.

The Google doodles feature a cake of two-tier with '23' written on the top. A candle on the cake has substituted the L in Google.

The tech company said that a "one chance encounter" between two computer scientists changed the use of the Internet service and the lives of millions of people.

Sergey Brin, a student at Stanford University in 1997, just so happened to be allocated to show Larry Page, who was studying Stanford for graduate school at that time, around campus.

The two Google co-founders built a search engine together in their dorm rooms and developed their prototype by the following year. In 1998, Google Inc. was officially born.

"Every day, billions of searches on Google search in more than 150 languages around the universe, and so much has changed from the earlier days of Google giant,

The first server housed in a cabinet built out of toys blocks to its servers now being contained in more than 20 data centers universally,

Its mission of making the world's information available to everyone remains the same," Google said in a blog post.

The doodle the year was designed by Brin and Page themselves to inform users in advance that they would not attend to fix any technical issue if the servers crashed strike.

In the last few years, from penguins to frogs, the tech giant had featured adorable animals to ring in the new year.
