After the unveiling Twitter Blue subscription model, the microblogging platform has been active in exploring another monetization avenue, according to app researcher Jane Manchun Wong. She had recently tweeted that Twitter is actively in the development of a new feature called Super Follow.

It is a cross between Patreon and Substack, allowing Twitter users to charge their followers as showcased at an investors' call,

Super Follow might become a noteworthy feature targeting users.

At the presentation for investors, Twitter provided a look at what it had planned for Super Follow.

It breaks away from Twitter's tradition of shying away from monetization and disrupting the platform's open nature.

Users would need 10k+ followers to enable Super Follow.

Wong suggested that Twitter might be developing an application for Super Follow.

Users must have at least 10,000 followers and be 18+.

Additionally, the users should have posted at least 25 tweets in the last 30 days.

Categories for 'Adult content,' OnlyFans besides other common platforms.

Wong said that those who use Super Follow would have to categorize the content they post.

Besides common content categories like on Facebook, Substack, Patreon, Twitch, and YouTube, Wong pointed distinct types for Adult content and OnlyFans.

The OnlyFans allows adult entertainers to interact with fans directly and provide content on a subscription or pay-per-view basis. Twitter didn't comment on this.

Subscriber benefits?

Twitter could add more subscriber benefits before the Super Follow launch.

Wong's screenshots suggest that Twitter's Super Follow feature might provide the Super Followers access to unique labels in addition to the exclusive tweets. She also suggests that Twitter may additional benefits for subscribers before it is launched globally.

Interestingly, Wong has had predicted the features and pricing for Twitter Blue months before launch very accurately, adding credibility to the latest leak about Super Follow.
