Apple has announced the iOS 15 operating system at WWDC with several key features.

You will get new features inside already available features with many granular controls. Besides that, as Apple has in the past, it continues to focus on users' privacy with this update.

iOS 15 essentially provides more accessibility to the iPhone user to decide what would work best for them, as long as it's about privacy.

The developer beta of iOS 15 is now rolling out.

The official release will be around the probable iPhone launch in September.

Arguably the best thing about iOS 15 is that it will support all the iPhone devices that currently support iOS 14. From the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to the latest iPhone models, all of them can run the new iOS 15.

Apple, in the past, had dropped one generation of iPhone each year from the software support. The same for the iPod touch.

iOS 15 is not currently available in a stable state -- hence you should not download the developer beta.

The iPhone devices that are eligible for the software are as follows:

  • iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12
  • iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE (1st gen)
  • iPhone SE (2nd gen)
  • iPod touch (7th gen)

The iPod touch will get an extension with the iOS 15 support as Apple did not discontinue despite being old.

If you want to download the developer beta, you can go to the website betaprofiles.com and choose the operating system as iOS 15.

Tap on the Install Profile button, and you will have to download the profile on your iPhone.

Go to Settings and Install this profile. You will have to agree to the terms of service before you can use the new operating system.

After installing the profile, go to the Software update section.

You will see the iOS 15 Developer Beta. Download and install it.

The iPhone will restart a few times; Your iPhone will now have the Developer Beta.

You have to keep in mind that it is a beta build, and you may face problems and bugs while using it.
